Relationship between the Broader Autism Phenotype and empathy among students

Previous research has shown that persons with a higher level of the broad autism phenotype (BAP) experience deficits in empathy. The aim present study is to investigate multivariate relationship between BAP and different aspects In sample 293 university students, we explored following empathy: fantasy, empathic concern, perspective taking, personal distress. was measured using Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire (BAPQ), Interpersonal Reactivity Index used for multidimensional assessment empathy disposition. Canonical correlation analysis yielded two functions (Function 1 ̶ Rc2 = 17.31%, Function 2 10.82%). 1, IRI subscales Personal Distress (PD) (rs .92) Perspective Taking (PT) -.39) are associated significantly all three domains BAP. strongest PD PT show Rigid Pragmatic Language BAP, while they demonstrate weaker Aloofness domain. 2, Empathic Concern (EC) -.98), Fantasy (FS) -.46), -.43) -.31) related domain results imply differs these constructs. more detailed understanding obtained through approach provides basis from which create programs efficient promotion skills.
